This session provides an overview of the aviation safety regulations governing design and production of civil aviation products and articles, and airworthiness certification of civil aircraft.

Learning objectives:

Upon completion of this session, participants will have the tools to understand:

The types of design and production approvals needed and issued by the Federal Aviation Administration.
The general requirements for obtaining design and production approvals for civil aviation products and articles that will be installed on those type certificated products.
The links between the regulations governing design and production of civil aviation products and articles.
The requirements for obtaining airworthiness certificates for civil aircraft.
