The session reviews the World Trade Organization’s exemption of civil aviation products and parts from import duties and describes the U.S. implementation of rules and guidance to support duty-free importation. It then walks through the association’s resources for ensuring that eligible imports are made free of Customs tariffs.
Upon completion of this session, participants will have the tools to:
- The WTO’s Agreement on Trade in Civil Aircraft and how it impacts the signatory countries (including the United States).
- What makes a civil aviation part or article eligible for duty-free import.
- How to properly perform such imports and document them in order to insure correct treatment under Customs rules.
Repair stations managers and personnel performing work on articles for customers outside the United States.
