Short Presenter Biography: | Sarah MacLeod is managing member of Obadal, Filler, MacLeod & Klein, P.L.C. and a founder and executive director of the Aeronautical Repair Station Association. She has advocated for individuals and companies on international aviation safety law, policy, and compliance issues for decades. Ms. MacLeod obtained a bachelor’s degree from Evergreen State College, Olympia, Washington, and a law degree from Catholic University of America. |

Long Description: | Those persons authorized by part 43 to perform maintenance on U.S. registered aircraft are required – in both practical and regulatory senses – to know the aviation safety rules. This session reviews the cardinal regulatory knowledge necessary for repair station personnel to be “thoroughly familiar with the applicable regulations in this chapter.” It walks through key elements of Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR) and connects them to the standards set by the FAA for airman holding certifications associated with aircraft maintenance. |
Goals & Objectives: | Upon completion of this session, participants will have the tools to understand: - The organization of 14 CFR.
- How the requirements from other parts of 14 CFR relate to and impact those in part 145.
- The regulatory knowledge and related skills required by the ACS.
